Amitabh Bachchan is all blissed out! Kickstarting AB Corp Ltd. with 'Paa', with scion Abhishek holding the reins of the company, Bachchan Senior finds himself and his sensitive flick to be recipients of National Award honour, no less.
'Paa' also spotlights the genius of Bachchan as one of the most redoubtable actors to grace Indian cinema. Expressing his sentiments to the scribe tribe, Bachchan confesses to feeling both "worthy and honoured" after being declared the 'Best Actor' winner of the National Award for the fourth time, having bagged the laurels earlier for 'Black' and 'Agneepath,' apart from the 'Best Newcomer' National Award in 1970 for his portrayal in 'Saat Hindustani.'
In a statement issued to the Fourth Estate, Bachchan states, "I thank the Government of India and the National Awards committee for this great honour. 'Paa' has bagged 4 National Awards, including 'Best Hindi Film', 'Best Supporting Actress' by Arundhati Nag and 'Best Make up' by Mr. Chrisiten Tinsley and Ms. Dominie Till and I congratulate all of them for winning this prestigious award. I especially thank R. Balki, a gifted director whose exceptional vision and passion has created this wonderful film, Abhishek, who took complete charge of the project as the producer and Natasha and Dakshina for their valuable assistance on the make up. Also a big thanks to Reliance for joining hands with us! This is an important success for AB Corp Ltd and the entire cast and crew who have helped make such a brilliant movie."
Word has it, that
Abhishek Bachchan did an impromptu jig and performed his dad's famous "monkey dance" from 'Paa.'
Party time, Paa?
